Wat Traimit Wittayaram Worawiharn

Wat original name of this temple is said to be "Wat Saam Cheen Tai" (Literally, the Temple of 3 Chinese in the Sounth), as it was built by 3 Chinese people. In 1939, the name was changed to Traimit Wittayaram Worawiharn Temple to honor those who built the temple. This temple is the second class temple under the patronage of the King. In this temple is situated the Golden Buddha, called "Luangpor Thong Kam" by Thai people. Legend says that when the Buddha image was first found, it was not as beautiful as it is now, since it was covered by stucco to protect it from invaders. The marvelous image was discovered when it fell to the ground during moving to a new building.
