History > Wat Pahlelaiworraviharn

Legend of Somdej Phra Puttajarn To Promransri, Thailand

Wat Pah Lelai Worraviharn

This is a second class temple under the patronage of His Majesty the King, and it is not known exactly when it was built. Several buildings are old and distinctive because of the high, white washed walls.

Phra Pah Lelai Buddha statue : This was built in the Daravadi Style, in the action of giving the First sermon. The Buddha images sit hanging the legs. The right hand is turned upward, and the left hand is turned upside down. The images were cast in cement and covered with gold leaf.

The Small Vihara : The Vihara of Luangpor Nark. The gable end was painted with a picture of the God Shiva riding a cow and a panting of flowers and leaves. Inside the vihara are kept the images without the heads of the Buddha images.
