Legend of Somdej Phra Puttajarn To Promransri, Thailand

Buddha Blessing B.E.2527(A.D.1984)

Buddha statue Parng Pratarnporn (Buddha blessing posture).

The blessing posture is the Buddhha turn his palm forward on the right hand, sitting cross-legged, meditating.

It is when Anon(Ananda) the first cousin of Buddha and one of his principal disciple was chosen to act as Buddha's instructor.

Anon then asked for eight blessings from the Buddha.

1. First is not to give him a good dignified monk's robe.

2. Second is to not give him an exquisite foods and alms that the Buddhha received.

3. Do not allow him to reside in the same Mulagandhakuti with the Buddha.

4. Do not invite him to places where Buddha was invited.

5. Ask the Buddha to accept the invitation that Anon has accepted.

6. If I bring a company of Buddhists from a distant land, please attend immediately.

7. If the Buddha have any questions, please ask him right away.

8. If the Buddha went to preach Dharma anywhere and I didn't listen to it. Please preach this Dharma to me one more time.

In order to prevent the accusation that he had become a preceptor and did not receive the blessing of the Buddha at all,. Thus, the Buddha then gave all 8 blessings to Anon.
